Description of Services
Developmental Editing: this is a high-level review of a script, offering suggestions on plot, characters, pacing, structure, and tone using comments in the script and working with the author.

Copyediting: this focuses on correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling and style using the Chicago Manual of Style (UK or US).

Proofreading: this is done after a copyedit to catch the last typographical and mechanical errors

Manuscript appraisals: this is a separate report of your completed draft and gives feedback about structure, pacing, clarity, character development, voice, and overall impact plus copyediting issues.

Beta reading reports: this is a separate report as a Q&A of your completed draft from a reader's perspective and gives feedback about structure, pacing, clarity, character development, voice, and overall impact.

Ghostwriting: here we take your ideas or partially completed work and turn your ideas, expertise, and voice into polished fiction, narrative non-fiction or non-fiction books, articles, speeches, or blog posts.

Formatting: the interior of your book can be simply formatted for print and eBook.

Hi - my name is Jacqui and I'm here to help!
I left the corporate world of hospitality and gaming to pursue my love of words, and assist authors to be the best they can be. I love working with writers to take the worlds they envision and share them with eager readers.
I have a BA (cum laude) in Linguistics and Psychology from UNISA, and am certified in editing and proofreading through the SA Writer's Academy. I am also a member of the Professional Editor's Guild in South Africa. I work freelance and am Editing Services Manager for BooksGoSocial. I review books for NetGalley, Reedsy, and a number of publishing houses. I am a voracious reader and keep a blog for my book reviews.
By night I am a gym instructor and love to spend time in nature and recharge by walking on the beach.
